Where’s The Other Half of My Brain?

On my list of “things to do before I die” is learn to draw.

As the the ability to do anything in life involves not just talent but skill, this means that I too can acquire an ability to draw by investing some effort.

My first first step was to get some basic understanding through reading (a rather left brain activity). Ironically, the book that is highly recommended by many aspiring artists is Drawing From The Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. Many reviewers’ said after doing the exercises in this book: “I was absolutely hopeless before but now I can draw!”

Betty Edwards' book has sold more than 2.5m copies since 1979. This is the 1989 revised edition.

And so, this was how I came to enlist Ms Betty’s help to locate my missing right brain.
